Quetta: Emergency Protest by Female Doctors After Acid Attack, Serious Questions Raised Over Civil Hospital Security

Quetta: The Women’s Wing of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) held an emergency press conference in Quetta, strongly protesting against poor security arrangements in hospitals, professional challenges, and recent incidents of violence.

Acid attack incident raises alarm

During the press conference, female doctors expressed deep grief and anger over a recent acid attack incident, saying it has raised serious concerns about the security situation and administrative performance at Civil Hospital Quetta.

They stated that the current environment has created fear among medical staff, making it increasingly difficult to perform their professional duties safely.

“Ensuring the safety of medical staff is the basic responsibility of the government. Until strict action is taken against those responsible and concrete security measures are implemented, this climate of fear cannot end,” the doctors said.

Allegations of victimization and dismissals

The YDA leadership also criticized authorities, alleging that doctors who raised their voices for rights and security were being targeted and dismissed from service as part of retaliatory actions.

Continued free medical services despite protest

Despite their protest, the female doctors announced that they will continue providing free medical services to poor and deserving patients, ensuring that public healthcare is not disrupted during the protest movement.
