Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in his special message on the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour, reaffirmed the provincial government’s strong commitment to protecting children’s rights and securing their bright future.

He said that ensuring equal access to education, protection, and development opportunities for every child is a fundamental constitutional and moral responsibility of the state.

Government steps against child labour

The Chief Minister stated that child labour deprives children of education, health, and a better future. He added that the Government of Balochistan is addressing this issue through both legislative reforms and practical measures.

He said:

“Rescuing children from the trap of labour and equipping them with education is the foundation of a prosperous and strong society.”

Scholarships for 400+ former child labourers

Highlighting a major initiative, the Chief Minister announced that more than 400 children previously involved in child labour are being provided scholarships to study in leading educational institutions across the country. This initiative aims to integrate them into the national mainstream and provide equal opportunities for progress.

Call for collective responsibility

Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that eliminating child labour is not possible through government efforts alone. He urged parents, teachers, civil society, and social organizations to play their role in ending child exploitation. He stressed that protecting children and ensuring their welfare is a shared responsibility, and every child must be provided a safe and supportive environment to achieve their dreams.
