Major Operation in North Waziristan: 48 Terrorists Including 4 High-Value Commanders Eliminated in 72 Hours
Rawalpindi: Security forces have achieved a major success in ongoing counter-terrorism operations in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eliminating 21 more terrorists belonging to the India-backed group “Fitna al-Khawarij,” according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing stated that the operations were conducted in the Miran Shah area and surrounding regions based on intelligence-driven targeted actions. With these latest engagements, the total number of terrorists killed over the past 72 hours has risen to 48.
Four key militant commanders among the dead
ISPR confirmed that four high-value and most-wanted commanders of Fitna al-Khawarij were also neutralized during the operations. They were identified as:
- Khawarij Khalid Raza alias Salar
- Khawarij Maftoon
- Khawarij Musa
- Khawarij Imran alias Ayan
A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the killed militants.
Ongoing clearance operation
According to the military statement, sanitization operations are continuing in Miran Shah and adjacent areas to eliminate any remaining militants and dismantle their network.
ISPR reiterated that under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, and in line with the National Action Plan, the armed forces will continue their comprehensive and indiscriminate counter-terrorism campaign until terrorism is fully eradicated from the country.
