South Africa (Sports Desk) Pakistani runners delivered an outstanding performance in the Cape Town Marathon held in South Africa, making their mark on the global marathon landscape with their impressive abilities.
In this scenic race, which saw the participation of more than 27,000 runners from around the world, the performance of Pakistani community runners stood out significantly.
Runner Faisal Shafi from Karachi completed the 42.195-kilometer marathon in 3 hours, 35 minutes, and 37 seconds. His achievement makes him notable as the first runner in Pakistan to complete eight World Marathon Majors while living in Pakistan.
After the race, Faisal Shafi said in a conversation that he was unable to complete this race last year due to bad weather, but this time he achieved his goal.
On the other hand, British-Pakistani runner Huma Rahman also delivered a brilliant performance, completing the marathon in 3 hours, 31 minutes, and 34 seconds. She remained among the fastest runners in the Pakistani and overseas running community.
Her run is being described as an example of consistency and strong pacing, where she maintained her lead with excellent splits at different stages.
Other Pakistani runners also participated in the event, completing the race at their respective levels and further highlighting Pakistan’s presence in the global event.
Held in the shadow of Table Mountain, the race was not only a sporting competition but also an important milestone for the Pakistani running community.
