One-Stop Modern Facility Streamlines License Issuance to Promote Road Safety Culture in Balochistan

QUETTA: In a major step toward fostering a safe traffic culture, the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) Drivers Licensing Authority in Quetta has fully operationalized its state-of-the-art facility, delivering transparent and merit-based licensing services to citizens.

The center offers streamlined operations for multiple vehicle categories, providing digital news-style efficiency under one roof.

Streamlined Services Under One Roof

The newly established authority handles the issuance and renewal of driving licenses across various categories, including:

Motorcycles

Motor Cars

Light Transport Vehicles (LTV)

Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV)

To ensure maximum citizen convenience, the NHMP has activated an integrated workflow. Document verification, medical examinations, biometric data entry, and practical testing are all completed within the same facility, eliminating bureaucratic delays.

"The integration of all licensing phases under one roof ensures absolute transparency and eliminates the role of external agents, establishing a purely merit-based system." — NHMP Officials

Strict Compliance: The Two-Tier Testing System

According to senior officials of the Motorway Police Licensing Authority Quetta, licenses are strictly contingent upon passing both theoretical and practical evaluations.

Phase 1: Theoretical Examination

Candidates must clear a rigorous theory test evaluating their knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and safety regulations. Successful candidates are immediately issued a learner's permit.

Phase 2: Practical Skill Evaluation

Following a mandatory 42-day training period, candidates undergo a comprehensive practical field test. This includes 'L-shape' driving maneuvers, reverse parking precision, and a live road test to assess real-time driving capabilities.

This rigorous, modern framework ensures that only qualified drivers take to the roads, significantly enhancing highway and urban traffic safety across the region.
