Pakistan’s IT Industry Shows Remarkable Growth: Exports Record 19.7% Increase

Islamabad (Web Desk) — Pakistan’s IT sector is rapidly establishing its presence in the global market. During the fiscal year 2025–26, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) exports recorded a remarkable year-on-year increase of 19.7 percent, while the sector generated a trade surplus of $2.91 billion, playing a key role in the country’s economic growth.

New IT Companies Registered, Pakistani Firms Expand Globally

Amid the expansion of IT-related activities, 872 new companies related to IT and IT services were registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Pakistani technology companies, digital agencies and e-commerce businesses are rapidly expanding their operations in international markets.

A clear example of this growing global presence was the participation of more than 20 Pakistani companies in a recent international exhibition held in Saudi Arabia.

SIFC Supporting Digital Economy and Investment

The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is playing an important role in promoting Pakistan’s IT sector, strengthening the digital economy and encouraging investment.

With modern financial infrastructure, the management of international funds and the receipt of payments in different global currencies have also become easier.

The increase in IT exports, registration of new companies and development of digital infrastructure are providing a strong foundation for Pakistan’s digital economy.
