PANJGUR: Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (South) visited the strategically important tehsil of Prom in Panjgur district, located near the Pakistan-Iran border, where he formally inaugurated a newly established NADRA Registration Office built in record time under the management of the Parwaaz Foundation. The project aims to provide essential identity registration services to residents of remote border areas.
Ending Long Journeys for Identity Services
For years, residents of Prom and surrounding localities faced significant difficulties in obtaining or renewing their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and completing biometric registration procedures. In the absence of a local NADRA facility, citizens were forced to travel long distances to the district headquarters in Panjgur, incurring substantial financial and physical hardship.
Recognizing this longstanding need, FC Balochistan (South) and the Parwaaz Foundation jointly completed the project on an accelerated timeline to bring identity services closer to the local population.
Modern Infrastructure and Citizen-Friendly Facilities
The newly established NADRA Registration Office has been equipped with modern facilities designed to ensure a comfortable and efficient experience for visitors.
Key features include:
- Spacious waiting area with air-conditioned facilities for public convenience.
- Separate service counters for women, respecting local cultural norms and privacy requirements.
- Advanced digital data-entry stations and biometric verification systems for faster processing.
- Modern office infrastructure designed to meet contemporary service delivery standards.
Identity Services Now Available for 50,000 Residents
With the office now operational, approximately 50,000 residents of Prom and nearby areas can access identity registration and documentation services within their own region, eliminating the need for lengthy travel.
During the inauguration ceremony, local elders and community members expressed their appreciation to FC Balochistan (South) and the Parwaaz Foundation for establishing the facility. They described the project as a significant step toward improving public services, promoting social and economic inclusion, and enhancing development in the border region.
