Swat Residents Demand Creation of New Administrative Units
SWAT — Like people in other parts of the country, residents of Swat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have strongly supported the creation of new administrative units and smaller provinces.
Residents called for the creation of a separate province comprising Malakand Division, saying new administrative units would significantly improve education and healthcare services in the region.
They said devolving administrative powers to the grassroots level would enable local authorities to address issues in remote areas more efficiently while improving access to basic services.
Residents also said smaller provinces would spare people the long and difficult journey to Peshawar for routine matters and official work, allowing them to resolve most issues more conveniently in Mingora.
They stressed that the creation of new provinces and administrative units is an important need of the time, saying it could strengthen administrative stability and provide more direct relief to the public.
