Sri Lanka Under-19 players arrested in video scandal

Colombo (Sports Desk) – Two players of the Sri Lanka Under-19 cricket team have been arrested on allegations of allegedly making secret videos of women while staying at a hotel.

According to reports, the incident took place in the Narahenpita area of Colombo, where the Under-19 team was staying.

The complainant women alleged that they were secretly filmed using a mobile phone while bathing in a bathroom. Following the complaint, police took action and arrested both players.

Later, both accused were released on bail of 500,000 Sri Lankan rupees (approximately 436,000 Pakistani rupees).

Police said investigations are also underway to determine whether the alleged videos were shared on any online platform.

Officials said both players have been presented in court for an initial hearing, and the next hearing of the case has been scheduled for May 25.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka Cricket Board has not yet announced any official disciplinary action in this matter, although administrative changes and reform measures are reportedly underway in the organization.
