Pakistan Women’s team wins by 168 runs, takes 1-0 series lead against Zimbabwe

Lahore (Sports Desk) Pakistan Women’s cricket team delivered a brilliant performance against Zimbabwe Women in the first One Day International, winning by 168 runs and taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

At the National Bank Stadium Karachi, Pakistan Women posted a massive total of 330 for 5 in 50 overs, which also became the highest-ever women’s ODI score at the venue.

Pakistan got off to a strong start as Gul Feroza and Sadaf Shamas built a 162-run opening partnership. Gul Feroza scored 50 runs, while Sadaf Shamas fell just short of a century with a classy 98-run innings.

Sadaf Amin contributed a solid 67 runs, while Najia Alvi remained unbeaten on 56. Captain Fatima Sana also played a quick and aggressive cameo.

Chasing the target, Zimbabwe Women could not withstand Pakistan’s bowling attack and were bowled out for 162 in 36.4 overs. Blonda Beza was the top scorer with 53 runs.

Pakistan bowlers also showed excellent performance, playing a key role in securing a dominant victory for their team.
