Islamabad: The Pakistan Army carried out what officials described as effective and decisive airstrikes against terrorist hideouts inside Afghanistan, reportedly killing 22 terrorists.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, as part of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, two hideouts belonging to terrorist groups affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan were targeted with precision based on intelligence information.
The airstrikes reportedly destroyed the terrorist camps and shelters, along with large stockpiles of weapons and ammunition located at the sites.
The Ministry of Information said that all necessary precautionary measures were taken during the operation to avoid any unintended loss of life or property.
According to the spokesperson, Afghanistan continues to serve as a hub for terrorism, with security threats facing Pakistan originating from Afghan territory. The spokesperson said Pakistan seeks peace and stability in the region and will protect the safety of its citizens at all costs.
The spokesperson added that Operation Ghazab lil-Haq will continue with full force under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework until what Pakistan describes as foreign-sponsored terrorism is completely eliminated.
