Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the film “Peddy,” veteran Indian actor Jagapathi Babu has come out in support of his co-star Janhvi Kapoor, urging the public to keep criticism limited to the film and its scenes rather than targeting artists personally.
Certain scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor in the film came under criticism on social media, leading to objections from viewers. Subsequently, the film’s director issued an apology and decided to remove the controversial scenes from the movie.
Commenting on the matter, Jagapathi Babu said that it is unfair to make a single actor or actress the sole target of criticism. According to him, performers generally portray their roles in line with the director’s creative vision and instructions.
He stated that it is not appropriate to place the responsibility for creative decisions entirely on an actor, as filmmaking is a collaborative process involving many individuals.
The senior actor further said that while every viewer has the right to express disagreement and criticism, personal attacks and campaigns aimed at creating mental pressure on social media should not be considered acceptable.
Following Jagapathi Babu’s statement, the debate on social media has taken a new turn, with some users supporting his views while others continue to criticize the content of the film.
