Kathmandu (Sports Desk) As weather conditions became favorable, extraordinary activity was witnessed on Mount Everest, where 274 climbers successfully reached the world’s highest peak in a single day, setting a new world record.
Previously, the record for the highest number of successful climbs in one day was set in 2019, when 223 climbers summited Everest.
According to reports, Nepal issued 500 climbing permits during the current season, resulting in long queues of climbers even in the dangerous “death zone” above 8,000 meters.
Meanwhile, 56-year-old Kami Rita Sherpa improved his own world record by summiting Mount Everest for the 32nd time.
Similarly, 52-year-old Lhakpa Sherpa climbed Everest for the 11th time, setting a new record among women.
On the other hand, Russian climber Rustam Nabiev, who lost both legs, captured global attention by summiting Mount Everest using only his hands.
