Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is rapidly becoming more tense due to the policies of the United States and its allies, and a new balance of power is emerging in the region. In a statement issued on social media, he alleged that the United States and its allies are violating the ceasefire and putting not only shipping but also energy supply routes at risk. According to him, Iran is fully aware of this situation and in the coming times its impact will become unbearable for the United States as well. Ghalibaf further said that a new regional equation is taking shape in the Strait of Hormuz, which will have significant global implications, while Iran has not even begun its full strategy yet. On the other hand, according to US officials, a blockade has been imposed on Iranian ports and sea routes since April 13, after which tensions in the region have increased. US President Donald Trump recently announced a naval mission called “Project Freedom,” aimed at opening the Strait of Hormuz and providing safe passage for commercial ships. Under this plan, the US Navy will guide commercial vessels. However, Iran has strongly reacted to this move, further increasing sensitivity in the region. Experts say that the Strait of Hormuz is a vital route for global energy supply, and the current tensions could pose a serious threat to the global economy and oil markets.
