Islamabad Accord’ to Be Signed on Friday in Switzerland; Strait of Hormuz to Be Fully Opened Without Transit Fees

Washington / Tehran: In a major and historic development aimed at ending decades of tension in the Middle East, the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran have confirmed the completion of a comprehensive peace agreement.

Under the proposed memorandum of understanding, referred to as the ‘Islamabad Accord’, the United States has agreed to immediately lift its naval blockade on Iran, paving the way for an expected end to hostilities in the region.

“All Ships Start Engines and Resume Oil Transport,” Says President Trump

In an official statement from the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the finalization of the peace agreement with Iran.

President Trump stated:

"I authorize the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping without any toll fees. Orders have been issued to immediately end the naval blockade. All ships should start their engines and resume oil transportation."

According to the U.S. announcement, the lifting of the naval blockade on Iran will take effect immediately.

Iran Confirms Agreement but Expresses Caution

On the other hand, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister also confirmed agreement on the peace deal with the United States. He stated that the text of the memorandum has been finalized, leading to an immediate cessation of hostilities on all regional fronts, including Lebanon.

However, Iranian officials clarified that agreeing to the memorandum does not mean “blind trust” in the opposing side. According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the agreement will only move forward once Iran’s core conditions are fully incorporated.

Key Points and Future Roadmap

Formal Signing:

The Islamabad Accord is scheduled to be formally signed this Friday in Switzerland, after which the text will be made public.

Follow-up Negotiations:

Both sides are expected to begin structured negotiations for a permanent agreement within the next 60 days.

Role of Mediators:

International mediators will continue to participate in all upcoming rounds of negotiations.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister further warned that if any violation of the agreement occurs by the United States, Iran reserves the right to take immediate retaliatory measures.
