QUETTA: Senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from Balochistan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday to discuss the political situation in the province, performance of the provincial government, and internal party concerns.
According to party sources, the delegation included Senator Mir Dostain Khan Domki, Provincial Minister Nawab Jangez Khan Marri, and Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran.
During the meeting, the leaders reportedly expressed concerns that PML-N representatives were being sidelined within the provincial administration despite being coalition partners in the Balochistan government.
The delegation also raised the issue of implementing the agreed two-and-a-half-year power-sharing formula established during the formation of the provincial government. They urged the prime minister to ensure that the agreement is implemented in order to address issues of deprivation and underdevelopment in Balochistan.
Sources said Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran alleged large-scale corruption in certain departments, particularly referring to alleged irregularities in the Ramadan relief package. He also described the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) as a “hub of corruption”.
Meanwhile, Nawab Jangez Khan Marri reportedly told the prime minister that PML-N ministers and lawmakers were being ignored in administrative matters, affecting their ability to carry out development projects in their constituencies.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the delegation that their concerns and complaints would be conveyed to the party’s top leadership for further consideration.
