Tehran (Monitoring Desk) A person belonging to a banned organization has been executed in Iran on charges of spying for Israel.
According to the Iranian judiciary, Sultan Ali Shirzadi was executed for membership in the terrorist group People's Mujahedin Organization and for working for Israeli intelligence agencies.
The court statement said that the convict was also accused of taking part in activities against Iran.
It further added that in recent years, the Mujahedin-e-Khalq has been accused of acting as a proxy for foreign intelligence agencies and being involved in various attacks inside Iran, including the killing of certain scientists and civilians.
