Pakistani Athlete Masood Khan Sets Record With 800km Non-Stop Run From Peshawar to Skardu
SKARDU: Young Pakistani athlete Masood Khan has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing an 800-kilometre non-stop endurance run from Peshawar to Skardu, setting a new world record.
Masood Khan successfully covered the challenging route without stopping, passing through the difficult mountainous terrain of the Karakoram Highway, the scenic banks of the Indus River, and the breathtaking valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to officials, the athlete completed the approximately 810-kilometre journey in just nine days despite facing extreme physical and environmental challenges.
Masood Khan has previously represented Pakistan in competitions alongside athletes from countries including Russia, Japan, and China, winning several medals during international sporting events.
Speaking after completing the historic challenge, Masood Khan said he was proud to raise Pakistan’s name on the global stage.
“This long-distance run from Peshawar to Skardu is a unique and historic achievement,” he said.
“Despite extreme hardships, I completed this 810-kilometre world record in nine days,” the athlete added.
He said continuous running caused exhaustion and physical strain, but he never lost courage because he was determined to represent Pakistan with pride.
“This achievement is a matter of pride not only for me but for the entire nation,” Masood Khan stated.
