Pakistan Stock Exchange Records Historic Rise in Number of Investors

The number of investors in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has recorded a historic increase, reflecting significant growth in the financial market amid the reported positive effects of the government’s economic policies.

According to Federal Adviser on Economic and Financial Reforms Khurram Shehzad, the total number of investors in the Pakistan Stock Exchange has reached a record 681,965.

A record 25,747 new investors joined the market in October 2026, marking a 66 per cent increase compared with the same month last year, Khurram Shehzad said.

He added that 218,894 new investors entered the market during the first ten months of 2026, exceeding the combined increase recorded over the previous four years.

The total number of investors in the Pakistan Stock Exchange has registered a 56 per cent year-on-year increase, the adviser said.

Khurram Shehzad further noted that 85 per cent of the new investors belong to Generation Z and the millennial generation, highlighting growing interest in the stock market among young people.
