Karachi Residents Demand Immediate Creation of New Provinces

Karachi — Residents of Karachi have voiced support for the creation of new administrative units and provinces, citing the city’s rapidly growing population and persistent administrative challenges.

Residents Highlight Lack of Development

Residents say that little to no development work is visible in Karachi’s streets and neighbourhoods. They complain that sewerage lines are damaged and piles of garbage can be seen across the city.

“The existing system needs to change. New provinces should be established, and Karachi should also be granted the status of a separate province,” residents said.

They further complained that garbage has accumulated across the city, dirty water is standing in various areas and there are few visible signs of construction or development work.

Residents also said that stagnant sewage water and heaps of garbage have made movement difficult in several parts of Karachi.
