Pakistan-Qatar Mediation: US and Iran Agree on Final Deal Within 60 Days

Bürgenstock, Switzerland: A major diplomatic breakthrough has emerged in the long-running tensions between the United States and Iran as the first round of high-level talks concluded successfully in Bürgenstock, Switzerland. The negotiations were held under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding with joint mediation by Pakistan and Qatar, aimed at establishing lasting peace in the region.

According to a joint statement issued by the foreign ministries of Pakistan and Qatar, the Lake Lucerne Summit was conducted in a highly positive and constructive atmosphere. Senior delegations from Pakistan, Qatar, Iran, and the United States participated in the four-party meeting and signed a comprehensive roadmap designed to reduce regional tensions and prevent further conflict.

Key outcomes of the joint communiqué include a commitment to reach a final and comprehensive peace agreement within the next 60 days. A direct communication hotline has been established to prevent misunderstandings and ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. A special coordination cell has also been formed to address ongoing tensions in Lebanon and support efforts for a lasting ceasefire. Additionally, a high-level political monitoring committee will oversee the implementation process and receive regular reports from chief negotiators.

To address the most sensitive issues, including nuclear matters, economic sanctions, and regional security concerns, both sides have agreed to establish specialized technical working groups. Following the completion of the high-level discussions in Bürgenstock, technical negotiations will continue through the coming week. Pakistan and Qatar welcomed the constructive engagement of both Iran and the United States and expressed appreciation for their commitment to a peaceful resolution.
