Nineteen Fishermen Stranded in the Northern Arabian Sea Rescued Safely
Karachi / Gwadar — Pakistan Navy warship PNS Taimur carried out a successful and timely rescue operation in the northern Arabian Sea, safely rescuing 19 fishermen whose boat had become stranded after suffering an engine failure.
The incident occurred in the open sea approximately 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar, where a fishing boat developed a serious engine malfunction and was left drifting at the mercy of the waves.
Immediate Response Following JMICC Alert
The Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) contacted the Pakistan Navy to conduct a search-and-rescue operation. Responding immediately, PNS Taimur was dispatched to the affected location.
According to a Pakistan Navy spokesperson:
“All 19 people aboard the boat were rescued safely, including 11 Pakistani and eight Iranian nationals. Pakistan Navy personnel demonstrated exceptional professionalism and provided the affected crew with clean drinking water, food, and essential medical assistance.”
Safe Transfer to Shore and Commitment to Maritime Safety
The Pakistan Navy team not only saved the fishermen’s lives but also secured the disabled boat and towed it safely to shore.
