Major Indian News Network ABP News Allegedly Hacked, Streaming Disrupted

New Delhi — Reports claim that India's media and broadcasting network has faced another major cyber incident after unknown hackers allegedly targeted ABP News, one of the country's largest Hindi news channels. The attackers reportedly disrupted the channel's digital infrastructure, affecting both its satellite broadcasts and mobile applications.

Founded in 1998 as Star News, ABP News is one of India's leading television networks, with more than 15 million YouTube subscribers and an estimated 124 million monthly viewers. According to the report, the incident affected a platform with one of the largest digital audiences in the country.

The report alleges that the hackers bypassed the security systems protecting the channel's Android and iOS applications, rendering them temporarily inaccessible. It further claims that the channel's online live stream was interrupted and replaced with a Quranic verse and a video, triggering concern among media organizations and government circles.
