Under the Green Pakistan Initiative, a formal programme to rehabilitate barren land for agricultural use has been launched in Balochistan. As part of the initiative, 1,147 acres of previously barren land in Jhal Jhao tehsil of Awaran district have successfully been made cultivable.

Following the rehabilitation of the land, regular cultivation of cotton, wheat, onions, various vegetables and fruits has begun in the area, providing local farmers with employment, improved incomes and new economic opportunities.

Local farmers have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a new hope for prosperity in the region. The Green Pakistan Initiative is transforming barren land into productive agricultural areas and opening new avenues for sustainable agricultural development and economic stability in Balochistan.
