The report stated that the United States now sees India not merely as a strategic partner but also as a potential economic competitor.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Case: In 2024, the United States filed charges against a former Indian intelligence officer over an alleged plot to assassinate Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, increasing diplomatic tensions between Washington and New Delhi.
Allegations Against Gautam Adani: US allegations of fraud against Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani were viewed in New Delhi as an indirect move against the Modi government.
BJP’s Narrative: India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party accused American institutions of spreading fabricated narratives aimed at destabilising India.
