GWADAR: Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Moin ur Rehman Khan, conducted an extensive site visit to inspect various ongoing mega-development and infrastructure projects across the coastal city. During his visit, the DG reviewed the pace of construction and issued strict directives to ensure compliance with modern engineering standards.
Eco-Tourism and Marine Drive Urban Greening
While evaluating the Marine Drive Beachside Plantation Project, the Director General emphasized the ecological significance of urban forestry along the coastline. He highlighted that the coastal plantation drive is strategically designed to enhance the city's natural aesthetic, combat climate change, and curtail environmental pollution.
The GDA is prioritizing green belts to offer an eco-friendly and pleasant environment for both local residents and international tourists exploring Gwadar's global profile.
Enhancing Connectivity: The Marine Drive Causeway Project
The DG also inspected the ongoing construction of the Causeway Project at Marine Drive Pleri Hor. He pointed out that this infrastructure asset will serve a dual purpose:
Optimizing Traffic Flow: Drastically reducing transit times within urban centers.
Rural-Urban Integration: Strengthening logistical links between neighboring coastal villages and central Gwadar.
He strictly instructed the engineering wings to adhere to zero-compromise protocols regarding technical specifications and construction durability.
Pishkan Jetty Restoration: Revitalizing the Local Fishery Economy
Highlighting the economic drivers of the region, Moin ur Rehman Khan inspected the rehabilitation of the Pishkan Jetty. He noted that the restoration of the jetty is directly linked to the livelihood of the local fishermen and the enhancement of Gwadar's blue economy.
Once fully operational, the upgraded jetty will provide modern docking facilities, accelerate seafood trade activities, and directly fortify the financial independence of the indigenous fishing community.
