Ban on Gatherings, Display of Weapons and Face Covering Across the Province
The Government of Balochistan has imposed Section 144 for 30 days across the province with immediate effect to maintain law and order and protect the lives and property of citizens.
According to Home Department Adviser Babar Yousafzai, the display of all types of weapons at public places, processions, and gatherings of 5 or more people will remain completely prohibited across the province. Under the notification, sit-ins, rallies, protests and all similar activities have also been strictly prohibited.
Under the government orders, covering or concealing the face in public places, including wearing a veil or using any other item that obstructs a citizen’s identification, has also been prohibited. Babar Yousafzai said the decision aims to ensure an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. All district administrations and law-enforcement agencies have been directed to strictly implement the order, while legal action will be taken against those found violating the restrictions.
