Balochistan Revives 3,778 Closed Schools, Enrolls Over 717,000 Children: CM Bugti

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the provincial government’s education reforms are delivering significant results, with more than 717,000 children enrolled in public schools across Balochistan during the last two years.

According to the chief minister, the reforms have contributed to a 5% reduction in school dropout rates and an 11% increase in student retention, reflecting growing public trust in the government’s education policies.

CM Bugti said that 3,778 previously non-functional schools have been restored across the province, allowing thousands of children, particularly in remote areas, to return to classrooms.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the chief minister emphasized that quality education is essential for ending backwardness in Balochistan, empowering youth, and ensuring long-term development.

He stated that the provincial government would not tolerate negligence, corruption, or inefficiency in the education sector.

To improve accountability and transparency, the government has introduced a monitoring system to ensure teacher attendance, school functionality, and improvements in educational standards.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed his commitment to further reforms aimed at developing a modern education system aligned with contemporary needs so that the youth of Balochistan can contribute effectively to national progress.
