90-minute phone call between Putin and Trump, key talks on Middle East and Ukraine

Moscow (Monitoring Desk) Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the situation in the Middle East and the Ukraine conflict were discussed.

According to Kremlin spokesperson Yuri Ushakov, the conversation between the two leaders lasted more than 90 minutes and was described as friendly and business-like in nature.

Ushakov said special attention was given to the situation in Iran and the Gulf region. President Putin welcomed the U.S. decision to extend the ceasefire with Iran, saying it provides another opportunity for negotiations and could pave the way for regional stability.

He further stated that Putin stressed if the United States and Israel resume military action, it could have serious consequences not only for Iran and the region but also for the international community.

According to the Kremlin, Putin also reiterated that Russia will continue to support all diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.
