Used Imported Mobile Phones Become Expensive as Customs Tax Increase Implemented

Karachi (Commerce Desk) Prices of used imported mobile phones have increased in the country following a significant rise in taxes imposed by authorities.

The Karachi Customs Valuation Directorate has issued a new directive, increasing customs value-based taxes on used imported mobile phones. As a result, prices of 62 models from various well-known brands have gone up.

According to officials, the new rule will apply uniformly to all used mobile phones, and no distinction will be made based on whether the device is new or heavily used.

It has further been stated that imported mobile phones must be activated at least six months prior to import. Importers will be required to provide complete details regarding the activation of mobile phones.

According to the document, the previous valuation ruling has been abolished and a new ruling number 2070 has been implemented.
