Trump says war with Iran ended after April 7 ceasefire

Washington (Monitoring Desk) – The administration of US President Donald Trump has stated that the ongoing war with Iran has ended following the ceasefire reached on April 7.

According to media reports, the administration maintains that the war, which escalated in early April, has effectively come to an end after the ceasefire was implemented.

Earlier, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also told the Senate that the ceasefire had effectively halted the fighting and that US military operations are no longer subject to Congressional approval under the 1973 War Powers Resolution.

A senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the war that began on February 28 has ended, and no direct clashes have been reported between US forces and Iran since April 7.

The official added that after the two-week ceasefire, no exchange of fire between the parties has been reported, which is being viewed as an indication of the end of the conflict.
