South Air Launches Domestic Flights; Bahawalpur’s Air Connectivity Restored After Three Years

New Flights to Karachi, Islamabad, Quetta and Turbat Expected to Boost Regional Economy and Tourism

Karachi/Bahawalpur: A major breakthrough has been achieved in expanding domestic air connectivity through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Defence, Civil Aviation and the Pakistan Airports Authority.

Private airline South Air (Private) Limited has formally launched scheduled domestic flights from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. The service is expected to help connect smaller cities with the national aviation network.

New Flight Schedule Announced for South Punjab and Balochistan

The launch of the service has restored Bahawalpur’s air connectivity with other parts of the country after a gap of three years.

A formal inaugural ceremony was held at Bahawalpur Airport to mark the arrival of the first flight, where participants described the restoration of air services as a positive development for the region.

South Air Routes and Flight Numbers

To facilitate passengers, the airline has introduced the following routes and flights:

Karachi to Bahawalpur: Flight Z8-942 is operating between Karachi and Bahawalpur.

Bahawalpur to Islamabad: Flight Z8-970 has been launched to connect Bahawalpur with the federal capital and the twin cities.

Balochistan network: Four flights are being operated from Karachi to Turbat and Quetta. These include flight Z8-911 from Quetta to Turbat and Karachi.

Economic impact: According to aviation experts, improved regional air connectivity will not only provide passengers with better facilities for interprovincial travel but will also play an important role in promoting tourism, trade and local business activity in underdeveloped regions.
