Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Following the lifting of the ban imposed on Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, his father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani has expressed his gratitude to actress Poonam Dhillon, President of the Cine and TV Artistes Association of India.
According to Poonam Dhillon, Ranveer Singh’s father contacted her to thank her for her support and clarified that neither he nor Ranveer Singh harbors any negative feelings toward filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar.
This development comes after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees withdrew its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. The dispute had emerged following disagreements related to the film “Don 3.”
Speaking to an Indian media outlet, Poonam Dhillon said that Ranveer Singh and the concerned production house have shared cordial relations in the past. Ranveer had previously worked with them in films such as “Dil Dhadakne Do” and “Gully Boy.”
She stated that her support is not limited to Ranveer Singh alone but also extends to Farhan Akhtar, as he too is an important member of the artistic community.
Poonam Dhillon also expressed reservations about the way the Federation handled the matter, saying that the dispute could have been resolved in a better manner.
It may be recalled that in 2023, Farhan Akhtar announced that Ranveer Singh would replace Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role of “Don 3.” However, various rumors and disagreements regarding the film continued to make headlines afterward.
The controversy intensified when the Federation issued a directive advising filmmakers not to work with Ranveer Singh. However, the decision was later withdrawn following opposition and legal objections.
According to Federation President B.N. Tiwari, the decision to revoke the non-cooperation directive had already been made before the legal notice from Ranveer Singh was received.
