Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day Begins with 31- and 21-Gun Salutes

Traditional Beginning: Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day began early in the morning with traditional gun salutes held across the country.

31-Gun Salute in Islamabad: In the federal capital, a 31-gun salute was presented, while the air echoed with chants of “Allah-o-Akbar” and “Pakistan Zindabad.”

21-Gun Salutes Across Provincial Capitals: Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Baltistan observed the traditional 21-gun salute.

Islamabad — Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day is being celebrated across the country with traditional enthusiasm, dignity and a renewed commitment to the nation.

The day officially began in the federal and provincial capitals with ceremonial gun salutes, highlighting the significance of Pakistan’s independence, sovereignty and national security.

In Islamabad, a special Pakistan Army contingent presented a 31-gun salute at the start of the day, while the atmosphere resonated with chants of “Allah-o-Akbar” and “Pakistan Zindabad.”

21-Gun Salutes in the Provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

In accordance with national tradition, 21-gun salutes were presented in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta, as well as in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Officers and personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces and security forces attended the ceremonies and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to protecting the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
