Pakistan repays additional $1 billion to UAE, total repayment reaches $3.45 billion

Karachi (Commerce Desk) The State Bank of Pakistan has said that the country has repaid an additional $1 billion to the United Arab Emirates under deposit arrangements.

According to details, the payment was made to the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. With this latest repayment, along with $2.45 billion paid last week, Pakistan has now completed a total repayment of $3.45 billion to the UAE.

The State Bank stated that timely repayments reflect financial discipline and a commitment to responsible economic policies.

It added that Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have also shown an increase, with improvements recorded in both State Bank and commercial bank reserves. Overall reserves increased during the past week, while a $1 billion inflow from Saudi Arabia was also noted.

The central bank further said that the recent UAE repayment will be included in next week’s official data.
