Islamabad (Commerce Desk)Pakistan has issued spot purchase tenders for liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the month of May in order to meet the country’s energy requirements.
According to sources in the Petroleum Division, Pakistan LNG Limited has invited bids from global companies for two LNG cargoes. International firms can submit their bids by 7 May, and the bids will be opened on the same day.
Sources further said that the first LNG cargo for May is expected to arrive between 12 and 14 May, while the second cargo is scheduled for delivery between 24 and 26 May.
Energy experts say that spot purchases help meet immediate demand, but their prices are generally higher compared to long-term supply contracts.
