Norway’s Foreign Minister Meets Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ, Agrees to Strengthen Defence Cooperation

Rawalpindi — Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, leading a high-level diplomatic delegation, held an important meeting with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, and ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Norway.

Emphasis on Regional Stability and Global Peace

During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir outlined Pakistan’s position on global peace and regional stability. He emphasized that greater cooperation and coordination are essential to addressing shared security challenges.

A New Chapter in Pakistan-Norway Defence Relations

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide appreciated the professional role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in the defence and security sectors.
