Morning coffee beneficial for gut and brain health, new research suggests

Islamabad (Health Desk) According to experts, a cup of coffee early in the morning not only provides energy to the body but also offers several other health benefits.

A new study has found that both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee have a positive effect on gut bacteria, which in turn improves mood and reduces stress.

The research was conducted by APC Microbiome at University College Cork, Ireland, where scientists explored the connection between the gut and the brain.

Although it was already believed that coffee helps improve digestion and supports mental health, the biological mechanisms behind these effects were not fully understood.

During the study, 62 individuals were closely analyzed, including psychological assessments, monitoring of dietary habits, and examination of stool and urine samples.

The results showed that coffee consumption overall has a positive impact on both gut and brain health.
