Iran accuses US of hiding war expenditures

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of providing false information regarding war expenditures.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Abbas Araghchi said that the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) is underreporting the actual cost of the war.

According to him, the war that began on February 28 under the policies of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has now reached an estimated cost of around 100 billion dollars, which is four times higher than official claims.

The Iranian Foreign Minister further claimed that indirect costs of the war are even higher, and the burden is directly falling on American citizens, with an additional monthly expense of about 500 dollars per household.

He also criticized the policy of prioritizing Israel, saying such strategies always end up harming the United States.

Experts say that such statements between Iran and the US could further increase tensions in the region and trigger new global debates.
