Islamabad / London (Web Desk) — Expanding military and defence ties between Israel and India have become a source of serious international concern. Reports attributed to Al Jazeera and the British human rights organisation Amnesty International claim that Indian arms supplies to Israel are directly supporting military operations in Gaza, contributing to growing instability and turmoil across the region.

Key Findings Reported by Al Jazeera and Amnesty International

According to a report issued by Amnesty International, India has established extensive and organised cooperation with Israel’s defence sector and is playing a significant role in Israeli military supply chains.

Key Findings

Arms Shipments: The report analysed at least 2,596 shipments of weapons and ammunition sent from India to Israel since October 2023.

Government and State Support: It identified direct arms sales by Indian state-owned and government-controlled defence companies.

Palestinian Death Toll: International journalist Julide Ayger claimed that Indian-made weapons supplied to Israel during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure were being used in military operations that have killed more than 70,000 Palestinians.

International Response and Jeremy Corbyn’s Demand

Despite daily international reporting on Israeli military actions in Gaza, the Modi government continues to provide military and logistical assistance to Israel, according to the report.

Jeremy Corbyn’s Position: British politician and Member of Parliament Jeremy Corbyn has called for an immediate review of rising arms sales to Israel and its Gaza policy. He has also held India and other allied countries responsible for supporting Israel’s military campaign.

Global Concerns: Defence analysts believe that growing India-Israel military cooperation poses a serious challenge to regional security, the international protection of human rights, and compliance with international law.
