Global Business Links Strengthen in Pakistan as Profit Repatriation Reaches $2.31 Billion

Karachi: Improved economic activity and a more business-friendly environment have helped restore foreign investors’ confidence in Pakistan. According to the latest figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan, foreign companies repatriated $2.31 billion in profits and dividends during the 2025–26 fiscal year.

The central bank stated that foreign companies transferred $151.4 million in profits to their home countries in June 2026 alone.

Leading Sectors and Profit Details

The financial and power sectors remained the largest contributors to profit repatriation, while the food, communications and tobacco industries also recorded strong performance.

Financial Sector: Foreign companies repatriated $534.5 million in profits from the banking and financial sector.

Power Sector: A total of $507.7 million in profits was transferred abroad from the energy sector.

Country-Wise Breakdown of Profit Repatriation

Multinational companies from the United Kingdom, China, the United States and other countries remained active in Pakistan amid improvements in the national economy.

Countries with the Highest Profit Repatriation

United Kingdom: British companies transferred the highest amount, repatriating $621.2 million in profits.

China: Chinese investors repatriated profits amounting to $486.5 million.
