Imphal — A fresh outbreak of ethnic violence has been reported in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur, where renewed clashes have raised concerns over the region's security situation. According to The Times of India, unidentified attackers carried out coordinated arson attacks in Kamjong district, setting fire to homes across multiple villages.

Homes Torched in Kuki and Naga Villages

Reports indicate that several villages inhabited by different ethnic communities were affected during the latest violence.

Key developments include:

• Phaimol Village: Approximately 15 houses in the Kuki-majority border village of Phaimol were reportedly destroyed in a fire.
• Naga Villages: Following the initial incident, seven houses in Naga villages sustained damage during retaliatory violence.
• Tangkhul Naga Settlement: In a separate attack within Kamjong district, another seven houses in a Tangkhul Naga village were reportedly set ablaze.
