Pakistan’s state institutions and citizens remain united in their resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms. Over the past two decades, the country has paid a heavy price in the fight against militancy, with thousands of civilians, soldiers, officers, and law enforcement personnel sacrificing their lives to safeguard peace and national security. While Pakistan is significantly safer today, hostile elements continue attempts to undermine stability, particularly in Balochistan, where banned militant groups are accused of carrying out acts of violence, intimidation, and sabotage against development efforts.
In recent days, FC Balochistan (South) has conducted a series of operations against militants and their facilitators in southern Balochistan. According to security officials, these actions reflect the state’s continued commitment to counterterrorism and maintaining law and order in the province.
In the mountainous Siahan range near Chedgi in Panjgur district, FC Balochistan (South) reportedly identified and targeted militant hideouts using intelligence and technological surveillance. During the operation, six alleged militants were killed, while a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and other materials was recovered. Officials stated that among the recovered items was approximately 50 kilograms of improvised explosive device (IED) material, which they said could have been used in future attacks.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Hotabad, Mand, security forces reportedly killed an alleged militant identified as Bashir alias Jalad, whom authorities described as a key member of the banned BLA. Officials claimed he had been involved in attacks against security forces, extortion activities, and intimidation of local residents. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operation.
Another operation was carried out in the Lagap area of Dalbandin, where, according to officials, an alleged BLA commander identified as Ali Ahmed alias Nadir and one of his associates were killed. Security sources accused the individuals of involvement in terrorist attacks, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, attacks on national infrastructure, and the killing of civilians. Arms and other materials were seized during the operation.
Security officials maintain that these operations demonstrate increasing pressure on militant networks operating in southern Balochistan. Authorities say efforts are not limited to direct action against armed groups but also include targeting their facilitators and financial support structures.
The government has consistently maintained that militant organizations operating in Balochistan are backed by external interests and seek to destabilize the province. Officials argue that such groups have harmed local communities by targeting development projects, educational institutions, businesses, and civilians, ultimately affecting the socio-economic progress of the region.
According to security sources, sustained operations have weakened militant networks, resulting in the deaths of several commanders and encouraging some members to surrender and reintegrate into society. Authorities view these developments as evidence of strengthening state authority and improving security conditions in the province.
Beyond security operations, FC Balochistan (South) has also been involved in various public welfare and development initiatives. Over the years, the force has supported projects in education, healthcare, water supply, sports, infrastructure, and community development. Medical camps, assistance to educational institutions, promotion of sporting activities, and efforts to improve access to clean drinking water and basic facilities have been among the initiatives undertaken in remote areas.
Officials say these efforts have helped strengthen trust between local communities and state institutions, particularly in underserved regions of southern Balochistan.
Religious scholars associated with the Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative have also collectively condemned terrorist violence, declaring the ideology and activities of such groups as contrary to Islamic teachings. The initiative emphasizes peace, tolerance, and respect for human life, while rejecting extremism and violence.
Authorities maintain that continued action against banned militant organizations and their support networks remains essential for ensuring lasting peace, stability, and development in Balochistan.
