Egypt’s National Day Celebrated in Islamabad; Call for Pakistan-Egypt Strategic Economic Partnership
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has said that relations between Pakistan and Egypt are founded on shared values and longstanding friendship. He stressed that both countries must now move beyond traditional trade and establish a strong strategic economic partnership.
He expressed these views while attending a dignified ceremony in Islamabad as the chief guest to mark the National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The event was hosted by Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Ehab Mohamed Abdelhamid, and was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, senior government officials and members of the diplomatic community. The federal minister congratulated the government and people of Egypt on their National Day.
New Horizons for Joint Investment and Industrial Cooperation
Speaking about industrial linkages, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said Egypt serves as an important production and distribution hub for African, Arab and Mediterranean markets, while Pakistan offers a major manufacturing and investment market in South Asia.
He said both countries could significantly increase employment, industrial capacity and exports through joint value chains, investment and technological cooperation.

He added that Pakistan could supply Egypt with raw materials, finished products and industrial goods, while important partnerships could be developed with Egypt in the fields of energy, minerals, chemicals, fertilisers and medical equipment.
Such bilateral cooperation would also facilitate access to third countries and emerging regional markets.
Major Diplomatic and Trade Developments
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to Pakistan: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has accepted an invitation to visit Pakistan, and the country is eagerly looking forward to this important visit.
Trade promotion through exhibitions: Pakistan will participate actively in Food Africa 2026, scheduled to be held in Egypt from December 7 to 10. Pakistan is also looking forward to the participation of a strong Egyptian trade delegation in FoodAg Pakistan 2026.
Defence and humanitarian cooperation: The federal minister appreciated Egypt’s cooperation in facilitating the delivery of Pakistani humanitarian assistance to Gaza and welcomed positive progress in defence and training cooperation between the two countries.
Pakistan-Egypt Relations Moving Towards New Heights: Egyptian Ambassador
Welcoming the distinguished guests, Egyptian Ambassador Dr Ehab Mohamed Abdelhamid said Pakistan-Egypt relations had witnessed significant progress over the past two years.
He said the visit of the Egyptian foreign minister to Pakistan and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to Egypt had further strengthened political consultation between the two countries.
