New York (Health Desk) According to scientific and social research, a recent survey conducted in the United Kingdom has found that people now consider 69 years as the beginning of old age.
The survey, conducted by an organization named Seven Seas, included responses from more than 2,000 British adults, the majority of whom identified 69 as the age when old age begins. Earlier research had placed this age at around 62 years.
Experts say there is a clear difference in the perception of aging across generations. Another survey involving 4,000 participants found that older generations consider 67 as the start of old age, while younger generations tend to place it even lower.
Health experts state that although perceptions of age are changing, maintaining a healthy lifestyle remains essential to manage the effects of aging effectively.
The report also noted that some younger respondents associate even the early 60s with old age, but experts describe this as a social perception rather than a medical definition.
