Recent clashes and guerrilla operations by armed groups opposing the Afghan Taliban have raised questions about the regime’s claims of peace and complete control over the country.

Anti-Taliban armed groups, including the Afghanistan Freedom Front, Afghanistan United Front and National Front for Independence, have claimed responsibility for recent attacks and reported casualties in several provinces.

According to the Afghanistan Freedom Front:

An attack on a Taliban checkpoint in Asadabad, the capital of Kunar province, left one Taliban personnel member dead and three others injured, the group claimed.

According to the Afghanistan United Front:

The group claimed that an intelligence officer of the Taliban regime was killed in a targeted operation in Shahr-e-Safa district of Zabul province.

In a commando operation in Tagab district of Kapisa province, a senior Taliban forces commander, Mullah Samar Gul, was also killed, the group claimed.

According to the National Front for Independence:

The group claimed that one member of the Taliban group was killed in a targeted operation in Paghman district of Kabul province.
