Alleged Indian Conspiracy to Break Up Pakistan Through Secret Links with Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
India’s Pakistan-hostile policies and alleged efforts to spread instability in the region have once again come under discussion following remarks by an Indian commentator about New Delhi’s role in the breakup of Pakistan.
Indian commentator Iqbal Chand Malhotra, while discussing India’s alleged involvement in the disintegration of Pakistan, made the following claims:
- Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had been an asset of India’s Intelligence Bureau (IB) since 1961 and played a central role in a 10-year plan to break up Pakistan, Iqbal Chand Malhotra claimed.
- Indian intelligence officer P.N. Banerjee, also known as P.N. Ojha, operated in East Pakistan under an assumed identity and played a significant role in the Agartala Conspiracy Case, according to Malhotra.
- Sheikh Mujibur Rahman met the Chief Minister of Assam and sought military and political assistance from India for East Pakistan’s separation from Pakistan, Malhotra claimed.
According to Iqbal Chand Malhotra:
India’s decade-long alleged conspiracy culminated in the division of Pakistan into two parts in 1971.
The article further alleges that India continues to promote and support political proxies in Pakistan as part of its efforts to pursue its objectives in the country.
