Ziarat Martyrs Laid to Rest; No Political Opportunist, Including Achakzai, Mengal or Dawar, Attended

The brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives while fighting terrorists in Ziarat were laid to rest with full honours. With tearful eyes, mourners lowered the martyrs, wrapped in the Pakistani flag, into their graves.

However, no prominent political leader claiming to represent nationalist causes or public rights reached Ziarat to share the grief of the bereaved families. Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Akhtar Mengal and Mohsin Dawar were among the nationalist leaders who did not attend the funerals, causing deep disappointment among local communities.

The Ziarat police martyrs, who wrote a new chapter of bravery on the battlefield, were buried amid tears and mourning with full official honours. People from across the area gathered to bid farewell to the courageous personnel who sacrificed their lives in service of the homeland.

As the bodies of the martyrs, wrapped in the national green-and-white flag, were carried towards their final resting places, every eye was filled with tears. A disciplined police contingent presented a ceremonial salute. However, the absence of self-proclaimed nationalist leaders from the solemn occasion raised several questions.

The families of the martyrs said their sons had sacrificed their lives for the country. They said this was the moment when political leaders should have stood beside them, but regrettably, the families were left alone during their time of grief.

Local circles alleged that nationalist leaders who frequently speak about public rights appear only when it serves their political interests. However, when the time comes to express solidarity over the sacrifices of police and security personnel, these political opportunists disappear.

Neither Akhtar Mengal nor Mahmood Khan Achakzai attended, while Mohsin Dawar also did not travel to Ziarat. The absence of all major political figures from the burial ceremonies has, according to local critics, exposed the gap between their claims and their actual priorities.
