Youm-e-Takbeer: Armed Forces Leadership Congratulates Nation on 28th Anniversary of Nuclear Dawn

On the historic occasion of the 28th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer, the leadership of the Armed Forces of Pakistan extended heartfelt felicitations to the nation, commemorating the day Pakistan officially became a nuclear-armed power.


The joint message was delivered on behalf of the military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.


Restoring the Strategic Balance in South Asia

Youm-e-Takbeer marks the historic milestone of May 28, 1998, when Pakistan conducted successful nuclear tests, effectively restoring the strategic balance of power in South Asia. According to the military leadership, this defining moment symbolizes the nation’s collective unity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national honor.


"Pakistan’s strategic capability remains a sacred national trust and a guarantor of peace, stability, territorial integrity, and credible deterrence in the region," the statement emphasized.

The leadership hailed the historic achievement as a testament to visionary leadership, praising the remarkable contributions of Pakistan's scientific community and engineers. They also paid rich tribute to the immense sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and the citizens of Pakistan in making the nuclear program a reality.
