World Cup 2026 Ticket Resale Sees Significant Price Drop

Lahore (Sports Desk): According to a report published by a British magazine, around 180,000 tickets for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 have been put up for resale.

The report states that due to a decline in demand for match tickets, there are concerns that several stadiums could remain partially empty. As a result, prices on online resale portals have dropped by up to 20 percent over the past month.

According to reports, many resellers are now facing potential financial losses. In the United States, 4,400 tickets for the opening match are still available, while thousands of tickets remain directly listed on the official resale platform.

Meanwhile, investigations have also been launched in New York and New Jersey regarding ticket pricing.

The starting price of tickets for the final match has been set at 4,185 US dollars, which is equivalent to over 1.164 million Pakistani rupees. The most expensive tickets have reached up to 8,680 US dollars, exceeding 2.4 million Pakistani rupees.

The report further added that FIFA had expected around 3 billion dollars in revenue from tickets and hospitality, however, thousands of tickets for matches in Saudi Arabia are still available, and in some cases, tickets are being sold below their original price.
